Starter Activity
All students should sit in a circle before commencing the game, Cookie Jar. Have students establish a beat with their knees and hands and copy the following words.
Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
(name) stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
Who, me? Yes, you.
Couldn't be! Then who?
This should be repeated with students getting out when they make a mistake either with the words or the rhythm. The rhythms should get increasingly more difficult as students become more comfortable with each rhythm.
Students should remember the game from lesson 1 -- play a limited number of rounds.

Build up rhythms from the cookie jar song to mimic a drum beat.

Have students assist in plotting out the cookie jar rhythm (who stole the cookie from the--) on the rhythm grids, asking them whether they hear one or two sounds per beat.
Once students complete this successfully, have them transfer onto chairs.
