Starter Activity
All students should sit in a circle before commencing the game, Bee Bee Bumblebee
Bee, Bee, Bumblebee, can you sing my name for me?
My name is ______.
This should be played as students pass a toy bee around the circle (preferably on the beat) as they develop an understanding of pulse and beat.

Lesson Body

Students will continue this game until all students have had a turn singing with the toy bee.
Following this game, they should sing through some known songs, including the Grand Old Duke of York and Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. Students should be asked to change these songs, given specific instructions.

A specific focus on dynamics should be given in Dingle Dangle Scarecrow, as students are directed to 'sing it like a lullaby' and then to 'sing it loud!'.
"Which parts of this song should be loud and soft?" Allow students to decide as a class.

The Grand Old Duke of York requires students to sing about soldiers marching up and down a hill. Ask students how else the soldiers could get up and down the hill? Could they crawl, jump, hop? Students should sing the songs, each time demonstrating a new action.
Conclusion
Have students line up at the door before dismissing them.
